In 2015 a colt was born at Dubai Arabian Stud who was named D Seraj, which means 'something that produces light'. And yes that little colt really shines through the crowd.
D Seraj has started his halter show career as a colt in 2016 winning halter yearling colt championships in Dubai, Menton and Paris. He continued his show career being awarded World Gold Champion Colt in 2018, Silver Champion Stallion in Dubai and Menton in 2021, and topped it by being awarded All Nations Cup Gold Champion Stallion in 2023.
His sire is FA El Rasheem, a bay stallion by FA El Shawan, a Marwan Al Shaqab son, that died too young at the age of eight. FA El Rasheem's dam is the Versace daughter Virtuosa MLR who traces to the Davenport mare Hadba (desert bred). She also produced the Brazilian Nat. Reserve Champion Colt FA Rajjah by Marajj.
As chief sire of Dubai Arabian Stud, FA El Rasheem is multiple Halter champion stallion and Halter champion producer.
Ladi Veronika, the dam of D Seraj, was bred in the USA by Linda Cogers who bred her Ansata El Nisr daughter to Versace, resulting in that beautiful grey mare.
Ladi Veronika, with dam line back to the Blunt import Ghazala, is also known in the halter show ring: She was World Silver Champion Mare in 2009 and World Bronze Champion Mare in 2010.
The Versace daughter is also a proven broodmare at Dubai Arabian Stud. Between 2008 and 2020, she produced 20 foals (some by ET). In 2018, she foaled the bay full-brother to D Seraj, D Sheimaz, World Bronze Champion Colt of 2021. D Seraj's older half-sister D Ajayeb by RFI Farid was born in 2014. She was World Yearling Gold Champion Filly in 2016.
D Seraj, who is chief sire at Dubai Arabian Stud, is a worthy successor of his sire producing champions after champions whose 2020 foal crop seems to be the most successful one at the moment. Among his foals from 2020, there are D Leen, D Sharar and D Beisan. All of them have been awarded halter show champions at major shows in Europe and Middle East. D Beisan, a filly out of RAH Rosalia that resembles her sire in his younger age, was named Gold Champion Filly at Menton and Aachen in 2022. She was recently named World Champion Filly. Her half-sister D Leen was named All Nations Cup Silver Champion Filly in 2023.
D Seraj's son D Sharar competed succesfully at halter shows, too. He was Gold Champion Colt at Aachen and Menton in 2022, and again All Nations Cup Champion Colt in 2023. At the World Champion Ships in 2023, he was named Bronze Champion Colt.
